I'm still "here" .....and I have been known to explain scriptures to people also. I'm a chaplain for the county jail, a pastor at an adult care facility and I'm "interim" pastoring at a local church. I read the bible daily and I read through it entirely at least once/year, so if that meets your "qualifications"....I am at your service, my friend! ;) Feel free to speak with me on messenger any time you see me or have a question! I get offline messages from Tracey often, so I know that works well also; feel free to leave me a message at any time also. You can use that as a means for letting me know "when" you'll be online should you ever feel the need to "talk" and I'll do my best to meet up with you (please understand that our "time differences" might make that difficult sometimes though; ok??). God may be "finished" with what He had planned for MarkPeter, but He is NOT finished with you, nor has He abandoned you either! There are many people that God has empowered to carry on the same work that you saw in MarkPeter; hopefully, I am one of them! Feel free to contact me anytime you feel the need to!
God bless!

Just adding a new message to let everyone know that the Crisis Center IS visited regularly; even though the boards do not show a "daily" activity! May we consider that a PRAISE that our services are not needed at this time, but we will make ourselves available, should the need arise!
God bless!

You needn't be terrorized by the unpleasant memories of this night. There IS strength and protection for you that is "only a prayer" away! I will do my best to pray for you through this ordeal, but there is not a better solution than being able to do this for yourself. Prayer has the power to send the devil RUNNING; (read James 4:7) this is a very REAL "promise" Waterlily!
God bless!

Hi Tom,

He is your long time friend, and could really benefit from having you around. If you stand tall in the face of any kind of persecution from friends enemies or whatever, you only prove your faith. That is the kind of thing that gets peoples attention. Caring more about what God thinks than man is always the right course. I know it's easier said than done, but don't let those things he says hurt you. He's not attacking you, but God. And God understands that your friends heart is hardened. Let God use you to change him. You don't have to preach, or quote scripture. Just live in a godly way while still being his friend. And do not comprimise God's principles for anything. And do not judge your friend no matter how many silly things he says or does. Just love the LORD above all else. And love your friend as yourself. Be strong in Christ, and God WILL make something good come out of all this. Even if you don't see it, and your friend walks away from you. God will use your love to help him.

Romans 8:
1. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
3. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
4. so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
7. because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,
8. and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
10. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
12. So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh--
13. for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!"
16. The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
17. and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
18. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
19. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
20. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope
21. that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
22. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
23. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
24. For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?
25. But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.
26. In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
27. and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
30. and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
31. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Be strong, and we're always here for you, even if it takes a little time to reply. God bless you, and your friend

Waterlily,
The whole point of my post to you was to explain that more often than not, life DOES appear to get worse when we begin looking to God for answers! He is allowing your faith to be tested!
Look at it this way (especially since you make so many references to "fighting" in your own posts); becoming a Christian is very much like "enlisting" in the armed forces and rightly so; for we HAVE become members in "the army of God"! Now, what is the first thing that happens to ANY "raw recruit", in ANY branch of armed forces, in ANY country?? The answer is "BASIC TRAINING"!! Now, "what" happens in basic training?? Does not the very same members of the very same branch of "fighters" now begin TESTING these very same "raw recruits" by placing them under rigorous mental, physical and emotional HARDSHIPS??? Now, what on earth would cause them to do THAT??? I'm sure that you are already beginning to see my point here, Waterlily; these "raw recruits" are placed under such hardships to "weed out" the crybabies, while also preparing the true soldiers that CHOOSE to remain and ENDURE such hardships because these "real soldiers" KNOW that there is a WORTHY CAUSE that they are being called to defend!
Please also note that the more "demanding" that their particular task force is (such as Special Forces, Navy Seals, Para-rescue Squad, etc.) The more "INTENSE" the hardship of their training becomes!! This is because these people MUST be "prepared" for the time when the REAL battle situations will have to be faced!!
I can only tell you this, my friend; if God is allowing you to be tested "to the utmost of your endurance" ---- it is because He has a VERY SPECIAL plan for you in your service to Him .....and a "DOUBLY COMMENSURATE" reward for you when your service to Him is completed, and that all of this hardship and pain will be INSTANTLY "forgotten" when you receive that reward!
You are not alone in the way that you "feel" right now, either! Prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, Jonah and Hosea also felt much as you do now. God did not "forget" nor abandon them.......and He will not forget nor abandon you, either! Like you, I also was not raised in a Christian home, nor did I have much "support" in my new walk with Christ. I also did not have a great knowledge of the bible, nor of Christian culture and traditions. There came a time in my life when I also found myself being "severely tested" and even my churchgoing Christian friends seemed to "give up and abandon" me! Like you, I also found myself very close to giving up on God......as well as on myself!!
The good news is: God NEVER "gave up" on me and eventually, His grace brought me THROUGH all of my trials! In my life I have endured a bitter divorce, unemployment and poverty, hunger, cold, shame, false accusations, being alienated from my children (one of which eventually committed suicide), persecution for my faith, and abandonment from even my church and Christian friends! Waterlily, I HATED every minute that I had to endure all of those things; many of which occurred simultaneously also! Yet, I would not be "who and what" I am today if God had not allowed me to endure them, so I have learned to be "thankful" for having experienced all of those trials! Many of these trials eventually "opened doors" for me to minister to others that were/are experiencing the very same (like you, maybe??)!
Whatever hardship you may be enduring, Waterlily; I can only say this: IT'S WORTH IT!! God's grace will see you through it and you will be a much stronger, and much more loving and effective person for having overcome whatever trials you are facing! Please, for YOUR sake (as well as the sake of "others" that you may someday reach out to in empathy) DON'T GIVE UP!!!
I cannot make these problems "go away" in your life, but I can (and will) pray .....THAT YOUR FAITH DOES NOT FAIL!! Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing?? I will be "away" for the next 12 days, but I will send you a PM with my Email and messenger IDs. Maybe we can have a "live conversation" when I return??
May God bless you richly until then,
Chaplain
